The Yanzi Chunqiu (Springs and Autumns of Master Yan) is acollectionofremonstrances and other moralistic anecdotes depicting the piousbehaviour of YanYing宴嬰 (578 – 500 B.C.), prime minister of the country of Qi.Although the text ismentionedearly, the textus receptus seems to have been corruptedover its long history.While theauthorship remains unclear, most scholars agree thatthe Yanzi Chunqiu is atext fromthe Warring States period (fifth century to 221BC).
